This seems to be a Linux specific problem,
BIOCIMMEDIATE is not supported on Linux.I encountered
the same problem when I ran the code on Linux. However
when I switched over to FreeBSD the problem
disappeared. There were some other issues too with the
pcap library on Linux.
AFAIK the emulation code in ns was tested on BSD, and
so there might be other problems too if you run the
code on linux. If you can do it, I would suggest
switching over to FreeBSD for running emulation.
