[ns] topology creation using tiers

Hi,

How should i install the tiers source code in my unix
system to create randomn topologies.
what is the g++ code.
i am typing tiers 1 0 0...in the command line and it
gives error tier:command not found.
what should i do now. when i am trying to install the
code from the internet, it gives all the files in the
tar.gz (zipped format). how to unzipp it in linux. 
also in which directory i should unzip it.
