Bio

Alefiya Hussain is a senior computer scientist and research lead at the Information Sciences Institute. Her areas of research are measurement, modeling, and emulation of networked and distributed systems for security and performance. She completed her M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Southern California and her B.E. at Pune University, India. Alefiya is the author of over fifty peer-reviewed publications, including ACM SIGCOMM, IEEE INFOCOM, and USENIX NSDI and has received best paper nominations for her work.

She is a recognized authority on cyber security and experiment orchestration and has presented tutorials on cyber security experimentation in a variety of venues including cyber security in cyber physical systems at the American Control Conference. Alefiya leads projects funded by a diverse set of agencies including DHS, DARPA, NFS, and DoE.
