Found a webpage that has the Flashbuster floppy driver, as well as other useful drivers. Only thing, it's not useful until I actually get linux running first, without the use of the floppy... here goes nothing... :-)

Starting off writing notes on what I'm doing related to the Micronets research.

Last few weeks have been spent on looking at Linux on Librettos (LoL). The Libretto webring is a useful resource... and was responsible for the ZipSlack route I found, and used to install the slackware distribution on the UMSDOS partition of my Libretto.

This method is unlike the Red Hat installation route in that this method installs a complete working Slackware distribution on the MS DOS filesystem, instead of just the installation shell.

However, apparently the UMSDOS isn't a very reliable system (compared to ext2fs), and after a crash (while trying to get the X running), refuses to boot up properly. In addition, it takes quite a long time to boot up.

Before it crashed, I had compiled linux on it, including the pcmcia, apm and irda stuff on it. Now that we know that the IR at least works, that would be an interesting thing to experiment with

Now, after the extreeemly long woe-is-me break, I plan to try the red hat installation route. Lewis had problems with it, but I'll give it a try anyways. This way, I won't have to wait for the 10 hours for X to compile....

Another possibility I might try if the Red Hat thing doesn't work out is to partition the disk, install Slackware on the DOS partition as above, and use that to install Red Hat on the other partition.
