hello, my name is Jeremy Robin and I'm a student at Dartmouth College. I'm doing some research work for a grad student who has designed a mobile node and a network protocol for a bunch of these nodes. I'm trying to use ns to simulate a wireless network involving about 100 nodes designed with short range rf transmitters. They are supposed to dynamically create a network that will allow all nodes to pass data to a host computer. I've read a lot of the ns documentation on designing my own packet formats and also on the wireless simulation. However, the packet format I've designed (along with Ping and other Agents) won't be accepted by the ?channel? or maybe there is another problem.
Because the memory on these boards is limited I would also like to take out a lot of the functionality that is built into ns. Basically all I want is send/receive between 2 adjacent nodes. It's not important that I write a data link layer because that has no real effect on the network conceptually.

if you can help me at all or point me to someone who perhaps could, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Jeremy
