[ns] Installation prblem

I am using allinone package for ns-2.1b8a, and I have problems in 
installation on my sun machine/network.
the ./configure stage is fine , but its not creating any binaries.that means 
there is some problem with MAKEFILE.
can any one guide me what to do.
or is there any way to upgrade ns-2.1b7a to work for diffserv networks, 
because I alredy have  the 71 version installed and running, but I need to 
do some diffserv work
