Hi all,
I took the reference from ns-mailing list about the
diffserv module in ns-2.1b5. I am using ns-2.1b8a as my simulation tool. I
need your help and support in the following aspects.
1. The specifications given for the Diffserv module
ns-2.1b5 is same in ns-2.1b8a? or if there are some changes , kindly
update the specifications to me.
Of course there are some changes,you should check http://www.isi.edu/cgi-bin/nsnam/cvsweb/ns-2/diffserv/ to
find the latest version of diffserv.
2. Where can I found the model files and
documentations fo r this diffserv module, as the link specified below is not
working. The information in ns-manual is not enough.
If you find the documentation is not enough, the best way
to understand ns-diffserv better is read the source code.
Thanks for your help and time you spare to provide
these very valuable informations to me
QaziRashid..

The following additions have been made to the
model:
1. Class Selector PHB and Default PHB added.
2.
Bounded Strict Priority Scheduler
3.
DropTail AQM
4. Minor code adjustments (see feedback)
Thanks to all of those who gave feedback.
There is some on-going work to port this to the

Subject: Diffserv Model for NS 2.1b5 available from Nortel Networks
Open IP Environment Group
The Open IP Environment group at Nortel Networks
is releasing the
Diffserv NS model that
it has used for much of its Diffserv simulation
work over the last 2 years. The model files and some
documentation
are available
from http://www7.nortel.com:8080/CTL/.
The current version
is compatible with the 2.1b5 release of NS.
This model follows the Diffserv architecture in
that a node can have
Edge or Core
capabilities. This Diffserv model includes many of the
popular PHBs, Meters, and Policers available at
the IETF today. It
offers rudimentary
classification capability.
The model has been found to provide suitably
similar results in
comparison with real
world Diffserv products. Many of the results from
some of our recent Diffserv-related papers were obtained
using this
model.
The Model has the following capabilities:
- Per Hop Behaviors
(PHB):
* Assured Forwarding,
* Expedited Forwarding.
- Meters/Policers:
* TSW 2 Color Marker
(TSW2CM)
* TSW 3 Color Marker
(TSW3CM),
* Single Rate 3CM (srTCM),
* Two Rate 3CM (trTCM),
* 2 Color Token Bucket.
&nb! sp; - Active Queue
Management (AQM):
* RIO-Coupled
*
RIO-Decoupled,
* WRED.
- Schedulers:
* WRR,
* WIRR
* RR.
