FYI, there is another paper analyzing the transport
performance of HTTP in these cases.

Modeling the Performance of HTTP Over Several Transport Protocols
       J. Heidemann, K. Obraczka, and J. Touch,
       to appear in Transactions on Networking
      (Oct issue, if we made the deadlines, one later if not :-)

See Section 5.5, and Table 8 in particular.

There lots of equations (we welcome refinements thereof!)

FYI-II:

The W3C/Nielson,Gettys paper focuses more on packet counts,
we focus more on end-to-end throughput and transaction delay.
