There have been several references in recent correspondence to the "SCPS"
(Space Communications Protocol Standards) work, and in particular to the
TCP-based SCPS Transport Protocol (SCPS-TP).
We have just completed the mainstream development of the SCPS suite, which
is intended to extend basic Internet-like services to allow highly
effective bidirectional communications between ground systems and remote
orbiting spacecraft. The specifications will now be held in a "stable"
configuration while we perform more spacecraft flight testing and gain
greater experience with their implementation and application to actual
space missions. For those of you who are interested in looking at this
work, the updated SCPS web site is now on-line at:
http://www-scps.jpl.nasa.gov/scps/
>From there you can download all documents and link to related information.
If you would rather skip straight to the SCPS-TP, you can get a PDF version
directly at:
