Here are a few comments on my first reading of the draft RFC.

Section 2, para 2, 3rd sentence add
"Therefore each ground station is always able to "see" the orbiting
satellite at the same position in the sky."

Page 3 NOISE section 4th sentence
"Typical bit error rates for a satellite link today are in the order of 1
error per 10 million bits (1x10^-7) or better."

Page 4 Transmission Errors section
Delete the first sentence. It adds nothing to the paragraph and in my
opinion is very negative.

Page 4 Asymmetric Use section
I think this whole paragraph is also negative. I would at least change the
first sentence to..
"Due to the flexibility afforded by satellite transmission, asymmetric
satellite networks are often constructed."

Page 4 Intermittent Connectivity section
"In non-GSO satellite orbit configurations, ...etc"

Page 6 1st full paragraph 3rd sentence
"Because of the effect of long RTT, the time needed to recover from errors
on a satellite link is longer than for a terrestrial network with shorter
RTT."

Page 7 section 4.1.1 3rd paragraph 4th sentence.
Isn't the idle time 250 ms as the first 250ms were needed to send the data
initially?

Hope these comments help to polish the document.

Thanks Matt
