Hi,

On Tuesday March 17, Microsoft released a new TCP/IP
protocol stack for Windows 95, called Windows Sockets 2.
Here's the URL of Microsoft's Winsock 2 page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/info/ws2.htm
It is supposed to support large window sizes, and supposedly
other TCP/IP performance enhancements have been added.
We are looking at evaluating the performance of this stack
over an asymmetrical TCP/IP network connection using a
T1 bandwidth forward link over satellite with a much smaller
bandwidth return link.
I'd be interested to hear if anyone here has experience
enabling the Win95 routing functionality... re: does it
actually enable IP forwarding in Win95? I have read that
it does as long as the network interfaces are on different
subnets... Microsoft has supposedly revised the Registry
parameters for the upgraded stack, but the DefaultRcvWindow
parameter is still a 16-bit number (64 k) according to the
documentation for Windows Sockets 2 (Microsoft Technical
Support article Q158474).
Any info would be most appreciated.
Kind regards to all,
