     The page

     <http://www.erg.abdn.ac.uk/users/nihal/IP-ESA.html>

     is a mirror of a much older version of the tcpsat web page. The
     current one can be found at

     <http://tcpsat.lerc.nasa.gov/tcpsat>.

     IPoS is a working group in the Telecommunications Industry
     Association, Satellite Communications Division (TIA/SCD) that focuses
     on issues relating to the whole Internet protocol suite and
     satellites. It was interest by the IPoS group which led to the
     formation of tcpsat. More information about TIA/SCD can be found at:

     http://www.tiaonline.org/about/satellite.html.

Apparently there is already a IP over Satellite (IPoS) WG at
<http://www.erg.abdn.ac.uk/users/nihal/IP-ESA.html> though the list at
<http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/wg-dir.html> only lists tcpsat. I
suspect the page hasn't been updated to state TCP over Satellite instead.

|IP over Satellite Links BOF (ipsat)
|
|Thursday, August 27 at 1300-1500
|================================
|
|Chair: Walid Dabbous <[email protected]>
|
|DESCRIPTION:
|
|The goal of the IPSAT BoF is to discuss the problem of supporting
|the Internet Protocol (IP) over GEO satellite links. The potential
|working group will prepare a framework and requirements document
|describing a typical satellite infrastructure and how an IP based
|network might be architected to utilize this infrastructure. It will
|also address the service interface between IP and the satellite link
|level (DVB or other).

I would add IPv4 multicast and asymmetric path and/or bandwidth to the
agenda.
