A good refference for WWW traffic (browser activity) can be
found in
S. Deng, "Empirical Model of WWW Document Arrivals at
Access link", IEEE-ICC'96, pp. 1797-1802.
It captures the selfsimilarity of WWW traffic originated with the
users, as measured at GTE labs. on their LAN.
Please let me know if you find any additional reference to models
for Internet traffic (any application).
