Satellite Communications Architectures and Networks
At ICC'99 - Vancouver
Thursday, 10 June - Full Day Workshop

The objective of this workshop is to examine the architectures,
applications and technologies of satellite networks. The focus will be
on their role in the current and next generation information services
infrastructure with new commercial narrowband and wideband satellite
communications systems offering ubiquitous services.

Papers are required covering any or all of the OSI stack and include
(but are not limited to):
* Network architectures using current and emerging systems using
LEO/MEO/GSO space segments and integration into terrestrial networks
* Novel applications and services including resource, traffic and
network management
* Transport and access protocols and performance issues relating
to TCP/IP and ATM transport as well as multicasting via satellite
* Middleware, congestion/admission control and switching/routing
concepts
* Multiple access and bandwidth-on-demand
* Link layer mitigation
* Propagagation

Participation from of service providers, system analysts and designers,
equipment manufacturers and the research community is encouraged.

Acceptance - March 15th
Full Papers - May 1st
