Many thanks.  The web pages describing the protocol are a treat.
For now, I have added a pointer to this to the ns-2 web page on
Contributed Code, at http://www-mash.cs.berkeley.edu/ns/ns-contributed.html.
It should appear tonight, when the ns web pages are automatically updated.
