[ns] need your help to run the sample script

 hello everyone,
 i have a problem while running the sample script given  in ns-doc Emulation
chapter. I tried to execute  the sample code in Msdosprompt.
 step 1
dos can interperet  following two lines
set ns [new simulator]
$ ns use-scheduler Realtime 
set me [exec hostname]
after that i cant proceed. command prompt is not displaying any % symbol. i
dont know how to proceed 

next problem 2

set bpf0 [new Network/Pcap/Live]
It  cannot construct the constuctor 
if anybody knows the kindly please respond me .

i need your help regarding the same
