[ns] nam install problem

Hi!
 We are trying to compile-ns-nam on windows98. ns has been installed
sucessfully and when we try to install nam we get the following error:
main.o: error LNK2001 unresolved external symbol_version
nam.exe:fatal error LNK1120:1 unresolved externals

we are using VC++6.0.

can someone help us out
