Buffer size on Gateway (spoofer)

If gateway (spoofer) sends spoofing ack to TCP sender, It should be
responsible
acked data packets.
So, gateway must queue packets until receive original ACK.
I'm worrying So much buffer size is needed in gateway especially in
Satellite Environment.

Is it my imagined fear ?
