FreeBSD large socket buffers

Does anyone have any experience raising the maximum socket buffer size for
FreeBSD machines (2.2-CURRENT) beyond 1MB? If so, how far have you been
able to take it? The kernel lets me set sb_max to very large values but
complains if I actually try to use the large buffers with a setsockopt(),
when sb_max moves beyond 1MB.

Thanks,
Tom
p.s. I'm aware of the PSC performance tuning web page.
