RE: [ns] Priority queues



I guess Prefer_Routing_Protocols is used to put the
routing-related packets first in the queues. That way,
if the network is overloaded, the load control related
packets telling everybody to stop sending packets
won't get trashed because of buffer overflow
somewhere.

I was reading the priority queue implementation
provided in files
priqueue.cc  for my thesis work.

Could some one explain 
i) why a 'filter' member function is used in
the PriQueue class. 
ii) use of the Prefer_Routing_Protocols
