With more than 120 researchers, Ph.D. students and visitors, ISD attracts over $12 million in federal grant funding annually. About 15 ISD researchers also hold Research Faculty appointments in the USC Computer Science Department, Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Neuroscience studies.

A unit of the University of Southern California’s highly ranked Viterbi School of Engineering, ISI is one of the nation’s largest, most successful university-affiliated computer research institutes.
Along with intelligent systems, its largest and most diverse research area, ISI researchers explore a wide range of informatics, computational systems and advanced electronics.
