ISI’s Intelligent Systems Division welcomes researchers in all the following categories:
- Senior researchers and Research Faculty
- Visiting/sababatical researchers
- Research scientists
- Research programmers
As an institution, ISI seeks to combine the intellectual inquiry and research flexibility of a university with the focus and pragmatism of one of the best R&D labs. Senior researchers are encouraged to pursue their individual research interests, and have the opportunity to work with accomplished colleagues in numerous, cutting-edge disciplines, in and outside ISD.
A Unique Environment
If you enjoy working with students, you may engage them as research assistants or student employees. You also may ask to be considered for a Research Faculty appointment to teach in computer science, electrical engineering, industrial and system engineering, or another AI field. As a Research Faculty member, you also may be able to guide students on Ph.D. dissertations that complement your own interests.
ISD has a long history of successful research support. While senior researchers are expected to secure their own funding from federal agencies or other sources, ISD provides extensive administrative, proposal editing and accounting support, as well as a network of researchers experienced in obtaining funding. ISD maintains mentoring programs to help researchers get started on the path to successful self-funding. These include both group sessions and individual support.
