SERC Cubesat Presented at Small Sat Conference 2023
USC SERC’s Ph.D. student Cristobal Garrido presented a poster entitled “MAVERIC: Exploring Space Visualization Technology Through Academic Flight Programs” at the technical session of the 37th Small Satellite Conference in Logan, Utah from August 5th to August 10th. The poster summarized the baseline design for the USC student lead 3U CubeSat under development by Undergraduate/Graduate and PhD Students from the Viterbi School of Engineering and the Department of Astronautical Engineering.
As an international PhD student, Cristobal also presented in the weekend session the article “The First Chilean Satellite Swarm: Approach and Lessons Learned”, a review of the University of Chile space program’s most recent 3U satellites of which he was a principle on the team. The lessons learned are being combined and applied together with the CubeSat development experience at SERC on the MAVERIC project and we are proud to have Cristobal as a lead!
