Adam Russell, AI/nthropologist and Director of the AI Division at the USC Information Sciences Institute (ISI), is on a journey to help build a better world with AI. He interviews the ISI humans behind AI to understand what motivates them, how they shape AI today, and where they hope AI will go.
Jonathan May, who works as a Principal Scientist at ISI, shares how his interests in acting and comedy connect to his current work as a professor. He breaks down why AI sometimes fails to understand humor and how the definition of AI has changed over the years. He shares when he began working with computers and the story of when he was first shown the power of neural network learning.
