Dr. Fred Morstatter is a Research Assistant Professor of computer science at the University of Southern California and a Research Team Lead at USC’s Information Sciences Institute (ISI).
His work focuses on social network analysis, misinformation detection, cultural modeling, machine learning, and fairness in AI systems. He has recently published on detecting polarization and cyberbullying in online environments. He is the Principal Investigator of ISI’s effort on DARPA’s Habitus program as well as Co-PI on DARPA’s INCAS and SCORE programs, and has served as key personnel on IARPA’s HFC program. Dr. Morstatter holds a PhD in Computer Science from Arizona State University.
