His projects target deeply embedded (e.g., resource-constrained) space and edge systems to supercomputers with research that spans resource managers, cloud computing and virtualization, fault tolerance, and heterogeneous compilers. A recent interest of his is the application of AI to resource management and signal processing. He also teaches the EE557 graduate computer architecture course at USC. Dr. Walters has led projects both large and small from sponsors including ONR, NASA, DARPA, and the intelligence community. Prior to joining ISI, he was a postdoc at the University at Buffalo.
