Human heart anoxia and reperfusion tissue (HEART) model for the rapid study of exosome bound miRNA expression as biomarkers for myocardial infarction (small 28/2022)

Abstract

To address the limitations of current myocardial infarction (MI) detection technology, in article 2201330, Pinar Zorlutuna and co-workers develop the human heart anoxia and reperfusion tissue (HEART) model combined with a near real-time microRNAs (miRNAs) concentration sensor for analysis of miRNAs under MI conditions. This model provides a modular, physiologically relevant tool for the discovery of novel MI biomarkers as well as novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
