Bio

Mr. French is the Division Director of the Computational Systems and Technology division at University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute applied research lab (USC/ISI). He also leads the Director of the SecUre and Robust Electronics (SURE) center at ISI, where he orchestrates cross disciplinary teams from across the institute that provide research and development in hardware reliability, resiliency, trust, and security. Mr. French is also the leader of the Reconfigurable Computing Group which performs research in novel application mapping, intelligent control, hardware / software co-design, CAD tools, and front-end ASIC design. Mr. French has served as PI on over 30 competitively sourced research projects totaling over $100M. These projects span multiple agencies (DARPA, IARPA, NASA, AF, Navy, and others) and scope (system, sub-system, and device level). Several of these projects have transitioned to practice. Mr. French is a member of the National Academy of Inventors, and has over 70 publications in the field.
