Pedro Szekely and Team Win Best Paper
A 20-member team headed by Pedro Szekely won the Best Applied Paper award at the 14th International Semantic Web Conference (IWSV) in October this year.
The paper, “Building and Using a Knowledge Graph to Combat Human Trafficking,” arose from Szekely’s extensive work with Craig Knoblock and others into the shadowy, often brutal business of human trafficking. IWSC is considered the leading forum for intelligent processing of web data. Other ISI co- authors include Knoblock, Prem Natarajan, Keven Knight and Daniel Marcu.
