Kesselman is adapting grid computing to aid clinicians trying to bring together enormous volumes of medical research with huge volumes of information about individual patients.

ISI Project Leader Ewa Deelman will employ the Pegasus Workflow Management System and associated technologies to support the data analysis and data management within the project.

The launch represents the first public action since BIRN was re-funded by the National Center for Research Resources in early 2009.

The new center will be part of ISI’s Distributed Scalable Systems Division.
