Center on Knowledge Graphs (CKG)

ISI's Center on Knowledge Graphs research group combines artificial intelligence, the semantic web, and database integration techniques to solve complex information integration problems. The CKG group leverages general research techniques across information-intensive disciplines, including medical informatics, geospatial data integration and the social Web.

USC-Lockheed Martin Quantum Computing Center (QCC)

A joint effort of Lockheed Martin Corporation and the University of Southern California, QCC is one of the world’s leading computer science and engineering research entities. Utilizing a D-Wave quantum annealing system for processing, applications include Big Data analysis, classification, optimization, and machine learning, helping support breakthroughs in aerospace, medical imaging, robotics, finance, web search, bioinformatics, and other disciplines.

Space Engineering Research Center (SERC)

As a joint effort of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and ISI, SERC combines disruptive space R&D, hands-on education of the second-generation workforce, and industry collaboration. The only "engineering teaching hospital" of its kind within the context of a diverse research university, SERC teaches students to build, test, and fly actual spacecraft and satellites, collaborating with government labs, industry and other USC schools and departments.

SURE seeks to meet an urgent cybersecurity need: electronics hardware safety. Dedicated to creating a US center of excellence for secure hardware R&D that helps protect national security, advance industry capabilities, and ensure citizens can rely on the integrity of their own devices, researchers at SURE utilize applied research to make chips trustworthy, secure, resilient, and reliable.

Center for Vision, Image, Speech, and Text Analytics (VISTA)

VISTA combines ISI’s world-renowned expertise in machine-learning and deep-learning techniques to address pressing challenges in security, surveillance and multimedia content analysis. The center’s experienced academic and research staff push the boundaries of academic knowledge in areas spanning biometrics, face recognition, optical coherence tomography, speech, image processing, forensics, and multimedia.
